Luno Partners to Close Crypto Access Gap in Nigeria

1 min read

Luno partners with AltSchool Africa to address the growing need for crypto education in Nigeria. Together, they aim to provide free, fully funded education to 15,000 Nigerian residents. This initiative, titled Demystifying Crypto for Africans, seeks to close the crypto access gap and equip Nigerians with the skills to confidently navigate the world of cryptocurrency.

As crypto adoption rises in Africa, formal education is essential to ensure safe participation. Through this partnership, Luno and AltSchool are empowering Nigerians to engage with the digital economy and take advantage of the opportunities cryptocurrency offers.

Crypto Education for 15,000 Nigerians

Luno’s initiative will benefit 15,000 Nigerian residents. The course is open to adults aged 18 and above, and participants must have or create a Luno account before enrolling. The program will run in three cohorts, with 5,000 learners in each group. The first cohort starts in March 2026, with additional cohorts in July and November.

The curriculum covers five core modules, all designed for beginners. Learners will complete the program within three to four weeks, gaining access to materials for up to one year. The course includes video lessons, quizzes, case studies, and hands-on experience with wallets, exchanges, and practical tools such as CoinGecko and Etherscan.

Practical Learning with Real-World Applications

A significant aspect of this program is its combination of theory and practical experience. Web3 expert Abdulsamad Tiamiyu leads the course. Learners will interact with crypto tools like CoinGecko and Etherscan to apply their knowledge in real-world situations. This approach ensures participants gain both theoretical understanding and practical skills.

By offering practical applications, this initiative empowers learners to use cryptocurrency for saving, trading, remittances, and entrepreneurship. Luno and AltSchool Africa aim to build confidence in crypto usage among Nigerians.

Building a Digitally Literate and Empowered Population

Currently, about one-third of Nigeria’s population already engages with digital assets. The Luno–AltSchool Africa partnership seeks to close the crypto knowledge gap. By providing structured education and practical guidance, it will promote safer participation in crypto markets.

This educational initiative will contribute to building a digitally literate and financially empowered population in Nigeria. Luno and AltSchool Africa are helping foster a responsible and informed crypto ecosystem in Africa.
