Technology entrepreneur Benjamin Oyemonlan has started 2026 on a strong note.
He won two major awards at the CoolWealth Awards held recently in Lagos.
While many people are still planning their New Year goals, Oyemonlan is already making bold moves. He was honoured with Young Entrepreneur of the Year and Humanitarian Personality of the Year.
Oyemonlan is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Platnova, a financial technology company. The platform focuses on cross-border payments and digital banking services for users across Africa.

He began his career in software development and fintech. Over time, he worked on digital payment systems and blockchain-related projects. He also became known in parts of the African tech community as “Trillbjm”, especially for early fintech and cryptocurrency initiatives aimed at young users and small businesses.

Platnova provides multi-currency virtual accounts, payment cards, and international transfer services. The platform helps African freelancers, startups, and small businesses send and receive global payments with ease. It also supports digital banking in areas where traditional banking remains limited.
Since launch, Platnova has expanded into several African markets. It now plays a growing role in supporting remote work and online commerce.
According to the organisers of the CoolWealth Awards, Oyemonlan was recognised for both his fintech innovation and his community impact. He has supported education, digital skills training, and youth development programmes.
His work has been featured in major Nigerian newspapers and business publications. Through conferences, interviews, and social platforms, Oyemonlan continues to shape conversations around fintech and youth entrepreneurship in Africa.
